در دنیای ساعت های ورزشی گارمین پیشرفت های قابل توجهی به دست امده است که از جمله قابلیت شارژخورشیدی و صفحه ضد خش را همزمان با هم دارد که قبل از این در هیچکدام از سری ساعت های گارمین وجود نداشت. همچنین قابلیت های نظامی اعم از جی پی اس حالت خفا می گیرد و همچنین صفحه ساعت با استفاده از عینک های دید در شب قابل مشاهده است. ضمنا قابلیت اضافه شدن نقشه های راه ها و توپوگرافی را دارد و عمر باتری ساعت ۲۱ روز در حالت اسمارت واچ  می باشد. همچنین سنسور ضربان قلب از سری جدید می باشد که زیر آب نیز ضربان قلب را اندازه گیری می کند و همچنین سنسور سنجش اکسیژن خون را دارد. قابلیت مسیریابی و همچنین اضافه کردن ترک های رفته شده توسط دیگر ورزشکاران، قابلیت ذخیره موزیک تا ۲۰۰۰ آهنگ روی ساعت و همچنین قابلیت مشاهده پیام های متنی و تماس های دریافتی روی ساعت گارمین را دارا می باشد. دارای ارتفاع سنج،فشارسنج،قطب نما،دماسنج نیز می باشد.
